Thanacheyan & Krishna Mayurini’s wedding was not the first Srilankan wedding we had shot. We have indeed covered a lot of Sri Lankan weddings in Chennai but this time our crew was booked into a flight to Sri Lanka and asked to shoot a Sri Lankan wedding. We were absolutely thrilled! What was more special about this wedding was also that we got to experience the Sri Lankan hospitality first hand. We have shot these weddings in Chennai before, yes, but the authenticity of the rituals comes out in full bloom only at the native places because it gets infused as part of the local climate and surroundings. The wedding was also very grand, the choice of jewellery and clothes were traditional Sri Lankan and every small detail was carefully taken care of to make sure that the rituals were followed by the rulebook.
We also had ample time to get some great couple shots in Colombo. Sri Lanka is a very pretty country and it was fantastic to breathe some local air and get to know the local people.
