A Grand Telugu Wedding at Tirupur | Kanika + Karthik

The best part about having to shoot for Telugu Weddings is that the priest always throws his attention on us after every ritual, and we would nod in agreement if the shot had come out well. If the shot were not up to our satisfaction, the priest is generally awesome enough to go over the rituals again, so we could shoot them to our heart’s content. Kanika and Karthik’s priest was a true Gentleman in that sense (hehe). The groom’s entry was like that of a Temple Festival. There were huge chariots with big wheels and horses carrying the groom, there were dancers all of them colorfully dressed, dancing their way towards the Mandap, there was a fire dance, with the artist casually spitting out fire in all directions, and ofcourse, there were crackers to bring all the Diwali in, so much light, so many many colored lights, that we were overtaken by our emotions of grandeur that all we wanted to do was just stop and stare. The procession was for 2.5 KMs, with the bride arriving like a Princess in her Pallaakku, to welcome her groom, and and we had rollicking fun clicking pictures that night. A Grand Telugu Wedding at Tirupur  We woke up to the Kasi Yathra the next morning, and the mandap was quite fabulously decked up. We infact got a brilliant shot of flowers giving in to gravity, and falling off from the Umbrella. 🙂 We shot the couple portraits at the Mandap, and the huge space helped us move and shift locations with different backgrounds.
